Luke 2:41-52: Lectionary Gospel Lesson for Sunday, December 27, 2009

This is my own translation of the lectionary gospel lesson for Sunday. Please make any comments concerning the passage you want. Together, let's discuss the Word of God:

41And his parents went every year to Jerusalem to the passover feast. 42And when he was twelve-years-old, they went up according to the custom to the feast. 43And when the day was over, when they returned, Jesus, the child, remained in Jerusalem, and his parents didn’t know. 44And because they supposed that he was in the group, they went a day’s journey, and they looked for him among the relatives and the acquaintances. 45And when they didn’t find [him], they went back into Jerusalem and looked for him. 46And it happened after three days, they found him in the temple sitting in the middle of the teachers, and he was listening to them and asking them questions. 47And all who heard him were astonished concerning the intelligence and his answers. 48And when they saw him, they were amazed, and his mother said to him, “Child, why did you do this to us? See, your father and I, because we were distressed, were looking for you.” 49And he said to them, “Why is it that you’re seeking me? You knew that in my father’s house I would be, didn’t you?” 50And they didn’t understand the word that he was speaking to them. 51And he went with them, and he went into Nazareth, and he was subject to them. And his mother kept safe all these words in her heart. 52And Jesus advanced in wisdom and age and favor from God and people.
